Stop the Critical Voices
Are you hearing critical voices inside your mind? Many of us have them. They may show up as:
• You can’t do this.
• Loser!
• You’ll never be good enough.
• You won’t ever measure up.
• How could you?
• What’s wrong with you?
You might call these critical voices “saboteurs” as they deliberately damage, destroy, and obstruct your efforts with all of this negativity.
How Critical Voices Impact Us
What is the impact of these critical voices? They cause stress, anxiety, guilt, frustration, unhappiness, and self-doubt, to name a few. I would argue they are at the root of all of our mental, emotional, and physical health issues.
The good news is we can stop them! We do this by growing our “mental fitness”. Here is how:
1. Become aware of these critical voices so we can intercept them
2. Grow our mental “positivity “muscles
3. Practice self-command of our mind where we choose to stop the critical voices and shift to a more positive way of thinking
Shirzad Chamine, author of Positive Intelligence, and creator of the Positive Intelligence Quotient (PQ) mental fitness program says mental fitness is the path to “weaken the internal Saboteurs who generate all your “negativity” in the way they respond to challenges.”
Is it really possible to stop these critical voices? The answer is “Yes!” But it requires changing how you think.
What To Do About Critical Voices
Lasting change requires more than the awareness that you have these critical voices. It also requires intense practice initially on a daily basis.
This is why I’ve added a mental fitness program into my coaching practice. Now clients can go through a rigorous training program including a phone app with daily exercises. Together we target each of their critical voices or saboteurs and stop them dead in their tracks!
80% of my clients who have gone through this program report it as “life-changing, yet so simple.”
